Before she was a front-end developer, Lydia’s background was in theater and education. She received her Master’s degree in teaching from Southern Arkansas University, along with a B.A. in theater arts and biblical studies. After her experiences in education, Lydia pivoted towards web development for a career change. She loves the combination of problem solving and creativity, and finds satisfaction in immediate and quantifiable results. With her combined experience in teaching and web development, Lydia is able to masterfully merge client communication and program implementation.

What's the craziest thing you've recently done?

Quitting my job in education, finishing my Master’s, getting married, attending a software engineering bootcamp, and starting a new job as a frontend developer — all within 8 months!

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Periwinkle — it’s as adorable as the name suggests.

If you could learn how to do anything, what would it be?

Hip-hop dance — I love the style, and then maybe I’d have a shot at being in the chorus of Hamilton.

Last book you read?

It’s not the last book I read, but it is my moral duty to tell everyone to read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Actually, listen to the audiobook!
